D’Orsie: More Than $320,000 in Grant Dollars Coming to the 47th Legislative District
March 19, 2026
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Joe D’Orsie (R-Manchester) is pleased to announce four projects serving the communities of the 47th Legislative District will be receiving Local Share Account (LSA) grant dollars that support community improvement and public interest projects.
“This funding supports the everyday needs of our neighborhoods with safer roads, better-equipped police, services for our vulnerable population and meaningful care for animals throughout the district,” D’Orsie said. “These dollars reflect the priorities we hear from residents, and they strengthen the sense of community that makes the 47th District such a special place to call home.”
Hallam Borough will receive $208,312 to resurface a section of East Beaver Street between Friendship Avenue and Wilson Lane. The project will include a full resurfacing and six ADA ramps to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility.
Hellam Township will receive $71,661 to purchase and upfit a police cruiser with a video system. This project will enhance officer safety, efficiency and community protection.
Leg Up Farm Inc. will receive $10,500 to purchase equipment for its therapy center supporting children with special needs. The equipment, including therapy/sensory swings, ladders and shoe cubbies, will be used by children with physical, occupational and mental health needs, as well as those receiving nutritional services, speech and equine-assisted therapies.
The York County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (YCSPCA) will receive $36,976 to replace aging, outdated and unreliable equipment to maintain sanitary conditions for daily animal surgeries.
LSA grants are approved through the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development and distributes funding through several programs dedicated to economic growth.
